WHAT YOU CAN DO
Since Baby Gowns for Eternity is completely run by volunteers, there are many things you can do to help us continue our mission.
One of our greatest needs is for seamstresses to help create our gowns. Please do not be intimidated by the task. If you can sew you can do this. It is very comforting to create a gown when you know this will help a grieving family.
All patterns are provided and they are basic and simple to use. You may make the gown as simple or as elaborate as your creativity guides you. Our volunteers work at their own pace in the comfort of their home. There is never pressure to rush or to make so many in a certain time frame. If you volunteer to sew, we hold monthly meetings to assist you in the process. We will show you how to take a gown apart, salvage any embellishments, cut out the gowns, basic sewing tips, and even share tips on decorating the finished gown. We will always be available to answer questions. We will not just give you a dress and leave you to figure out the process on your own.
IF YOU DON'T SEW, there are still many ways you can volunteer. We need volunteers to dismantle the donated dresses and cut out the Baby Gowns. Volunteers are needed to pick up donated dresses either from a donation location or an individual. We always need help with fundraising, canvasing for sponsorship, securing media exposure, or organizing a dress drive.
If you own a business, please consider becoming a drop off location that collects donated gowns for us. Or perhaps you work for a business that would be willing to provide this service.
